Thambar 90/2.2

Leica lens !
This Thambar 90/2.2 lens is one of the most legendary lenses
ever made, either for it's
delicious and appreciated famous "soft"
effect, and for the relative rarity,
being it a lens produced in only 2984
pieces, of which very few
are still clean after a minimum of 53 years!
As you will see on my pictures, this Thambar lens
is COMPLETE with filter, caps, hood...
With serial # 311262 it has
been made in Wetzlar on the year 1936, the 2nd production year, and
it is really MINT... well, let me say MINT minus, mostly
for some (few, acceptable)
wear on the front external ring, where the hood fatally touch the
black paint, and may leave some tiny signs...
...but, if you will not purchase
THIS example, I think that you will have to wait a long
time before to have another chance to buy a such beautiful Thambar
lens !
Please look accurately how clean is the black paint, and all engravings...
...the distance scale is usefully engraved in METERS, the silvered filled depth-of-field is almost perfect...
...you will need a microscope in order to find the minimal and few small signs on it... J
...please, look (and LOVE !) the already described, incredibly conditions of the "silver" engravings...
...in this picture you may notice the described light signs (at your left) left by the hood fitting...
...and, again incredibly, all glasses surfaces are
virtually PERFECT ! I can't see noticeable scratches
on them, no fungus, no separation, no fog ! Aperture leaves are ex++, nice, and
"nearly" dry.
There are some very small dust particle, not disturbing, and I think that it would be
a pity
to open and "disturb" this collectible lens only for the removal of..
almost nothing !
A famous, complete Thambar 90/2.2 telephoto lens,
in the best possible cosmetical conditions !
It is a great collectible, but you may test it even on your
Leica M7 !
