M2 Canada 995050
This is not a "common" Leica M2
! It is one of the few (only 1580 pcs)
that have been made in the fine Canadian factory,
although still
engraved "Ernst Leitz gmbh, Wetzlar, Germany"...

With the nice serial # 955050, it result as made
in Midland, Ontario, Canada, in the May of the year 1960,
and it is one of the 100 "Canadian" M2 examples from the batch with # from 995
001 to 995 100...

The camera front side is near mint,
the rear side is near mint, too, with mostly a few flaws on
the
rear door's black paint finish (still nice !), the chrome
is BETTER than in those pics,
The baseplate is clean on the vertical borders, and shows some
normal use
on the bottom side, say that it is EX+. The view/rangefinder is
very clean
and contrasty, shutter speeds and curtains are OK,
as the vulkan
covering, that is nice, complete and not cracked...

...on the top plate there are some of the usual "Leicameter" scuffs, as we may find in most classic
Leica M cameras. NO dents,
and NO heavy use, this is still
a "fresh" Leica M2
camera, that have seen a few use, BUT (remember) the meter's
scuffs...

...again this Canadian Leica M2 # 995050 seen from the top
side. Again, please remember that the chrome
finish is beautiful and not so "gray" as may seem looking at this picture !
I forgot to make my
usual pictures to the lugs sides... Well, there is a small "strap"
sign on the left side,
and almost nothing (say really imperceptible) on the right side...
Conditions, then, are EX+
to EX++, (or better
?)... J 1.680
